🔥 What Is Short Track Speed Skating?
Short track is a fast-paced, non-contact sport raced on a smaller rink with tight corners and high speeds. Unlike long track, there are no lanes or barriers, so skaters compete side by side—leading to thrilling overtakes, dramatic falls, and edge-of-your-seat finishes.

It’s one of the most exciting winter sports to watch and even more exhilarating to try.

Aldwych Speed Club is proudly affiliated with British Ice Skating (BIS). This means:
✅ We’re fully insured for all club activities
✅ We maintain the appropriate level of governance
✅ We receive expert guidance from BIS staff to create the best possible environment for skaters
✅ We’re eligible to enter official competitions

Our affiliation also connects us to the wider performance pathway. Aldwych Speed Club actively participates in the GB Squad and the Speed Skating Performance Programme (SSPP), supporting athletes with national-level ambitions.
